New Zealand and South Africa will contest the 32nd game of the 2023 Cricket World Cup at Pune's Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on the 1st of November. Both teams are in with a really good shout of qualifying for the semi-finals, but who do I think will go on and all but book themselves a spot in the last four? Read on to find out what it is that I am predicting for this match at the odds being offered by quality British cricket betting sites.
💯 New Zealand v South Africa Betting Odds
Cricket betting might not be as popular as the likes of football and horse racing, but there is still plenty of interest in it, which is why all of the top UK sports betting sites will make sure that they their punters a quality platform for betting on this entertaining sport.
Since sports betting should be all about entertainment value, I have selected three markets that I love to place bets on, and I have given you the betting odds from some top UK bookmakers.
Match Winners Odds: New Zealand v South Africa
If you are considering placing a bet on the winner of this New Zealand vs South Africa match, then here are the match winner odds for it:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
New Zealand | 2.01 | 2.01 | 2.10 | 2.05 | 2.20 |
South Africa | 1.61 | 1.61 | 1.73 | 1.62 | 1.66 |
Top Batsman Odds: New Zealand v South Africa
Cricket is one of my favourite sports to bet on because there are so many different markets that we cricket fans can put our money on, ensuring that things do not become stale. I really enjoy the top batsman market because it allows me to select a batsman that I think will score the most runs for their team in the match and live each ball that they encounter in their innings.
Below you can find three Kiwis and Proteas batsmen that I feel should be considered for the top batsman market alongside some competitive top batsman odds:
New Zealand:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Devon Conway | 4.00 | 2.80 |
Rachin Ravindra | 4.50 | 4.00 |
Daryl Mitchell | 5.00 | 3.00 |
South Africa:
Player | ||
---|---|---|
Quinton de Kock | 4.00 | 3.25 |
Rassie van der Dussen | 4.50 | 3.50 |
Heinrick Klaasen | 6.50 | 4.00 |
Top Wicket Taker Odds: New Zealand v South Africa
If you are finding it hard to select a batter that you think will score the most runs for their team in this match, then another fun market that is available is the top wicket taker market. Here, as you can probably guess, your aim is to predict the bowler that will pick up the most wickets. I like this market because I can select a bowler and support him throughout the match, cheering when he picks up wickets and groaning when he gets put to the boundary.
Here are three Kiwi and Proteas bowlers that should be considered for this market. You can also see the competitive top wicket taker odds that are being offered:
New Zealand:
Team | ||
---|---|---|
Trent Boult | 3.50 | 3.20 |
Matt Henry | 3.75 | 3.25 |
Mitchell Santner | 5.00 | 4.75 |
South Africa:
Team | ||
---|---|---|
Kagiso Rabada | 3.50 | 2.87 |
Gerald Coetzee | 4.50 | 3.25 |
Marco Jansen | 4.50 | 3.25 |
The above odds were correct at the time of writing. For updated odds, go to the bookmakers' sites.
🔍 New Zealand v South Africa Match Winner Prediction
New Zealand have collected eight points from their six games, while South Africa have ten points after six matches. With the type of cricket that both countries have been playing, they will both be disappointed if they do not end up claiming a spot in the final four.
Both South Africa and New Zealand had two close encounters in the previous round of matches, but not with the same outcome. South Africa managed to crawl over the finish line against Pakistan with only one wicket left, while New Zealand were set a huge total of 388 against the Aussies and finished agonisingly short of the finish line.
These two sides have some big hitters and devastating bowlers that they can call upon, so this could be another match that goes down to the wire. This would be awesome for the tournament as a whole since there have not been many matches that have got the heart beating.
It is not easy to predict the winner of this game since both sides are in form and have quality players. However, my money will be on South Africa as their tense victory over Pakistan will have given them the belief that this is their year. They will be confident of beating any team now, so I would back them to win this game and all but qualify for the last four.
My New Zealand v South Africa winner prediction: South Africa to win!
✔️ New Zealand v South Africa CWC Betting Tips
Before you go ahead and place any bets on this NZ vs SA match, do yourself a solid and check out my CWC betting tips below:
Match Winner: South Africa to Win
New Zealand and South Africa have met a total of eight times at World Cups, and New Zealand have won six to South Africa's two. Thus, New Zealand clearly have history on their side, but the form is more important than history, and I feel that the Proteas are playing better cricket than the Kiwis, but only just.
If you do not support either team, you should still consider watching this game as there should be a lot of entertainment and drama on offer. In the past, South Africa have crumbled when under pressure, but their close win against Pakistan in their previous match could be their turning point. They will now feel that they can cope when under pressure.
Both teams are quite equal, but I think that South Africa have a slightly better batting unit, which should see them get across the finish line against the Black Caps. However, due to how close these two cricket teams are at the moment, I would think twice about betting on a match winner.
However, if you do want to bet on South Africa to win, then William Hill are offering odds of 1.73.
New Zealand's Top Batsman Winner: Rachin Ravindra to Win
Rachin Ravindra has been a star at this World Cup, and he will earn many caps for New Zealand over the next 5-10 years. In the six games that he has played, he has notched up 406 runs at an impressive average of 81.20. He has a lot of skill and plenty of confidence, so it would not be a surprise if he takes a liking to the South Africa bowling attack and scores a bucketload of runs again.
If you would like to bet on Ravindra to be New Zealand's top scorer, then you can find odds of 4.50 at William Hill.
South Africa Top Batsman Winner: Quinton de Kock to Win
Quinton de Kock will hang up his ODI bat when South Africa's World Cup campaign comes to an end, so he is playing with no pressure on his shoulders, and this has not been good news for any bowlers. In six matches, he has smashed 431 runs with a 71.83 average - this has included no fewer than three centuries. He has been enjoying himself out there, and I would not be surprised if he enjoyed himself once more against New Zealand.
William Hill are offering odds of 4.00 for De Kock to top score for South Africa.
New Zealand's Top Wicket Taker: Mitchell Santner to Win Top Wicket Taker
The pitches on offer at this World Cup have not offered that much spin, making Santner's 14 wickets at an average of 20.21 an even more impressive feat. He is a very intelligent bowler and is never afraid to give the ball some extra air to try and entice batsmen into playing a big shot and making a fatal error.
If you want to put money on Santner to take the most South African wickets, then William Hill currently have odds of 5.00 for him to do so.
South Africa's Top Wicket Taker: Marco Jansen to Win Top Wicket Taker
Marco Jansen has become a really valuable player for the Proteas, and he is their leading wicket taker at this World Cup. He has collected 13 wickets in six matches at an average of 22.31. He can bowl with plenty of pace when needed, but he also has a slower ball that can deceive batsmen all ends up. It would be surprising if he did not get more wickets in this match.
William Hill currently have odds of 4.50 for Jansen to get the most Kiwi wickets.
