Eurovision 2024 Format
The Eurovision song contest consists of three live shows, including two semi-finals and a grand final. The competition draws acts from several countries who perform in front of a live audience.
After each semi-final, there is a national jury voting and televoting to determine the ten countries that will qualify for the final round from each semi-final. Viewers can vote for their best songs by SMS, telephone, or the Eurovision app, but there is a time limit for viewers to cast their votes.
After all participating countries have performed, each country awards up to twelve points to their top ten songs. During the final, the televoting and national jury will determine the ultimate winner of the competition.
Since the launch of the competition in the 1950s, Ireland and Sweden have been the most successful Eurovision nations, with Ireland being the only country to win the competition three times consecutively.
