Premier League Title Contenders

Let's take a closer look at the four teams leading the Premier League betting odds for the 24/25 season.

Manchester City

While Guardiola is in charge of City, they will always be one of the favourites for the title. This could be his last season in Manchester, and he has a squad full of talent that can send him off in style. With Erling Haaland, Rodri, Kevin de Bruyne, and Ederson, teams always need to be at their best to beat Manchester City.

Arsenal

Although Man City have won the previous four seasons in a row, Arsenal have given them a challenge and are closing the gap on their EPL title-chasing rivals. This was highlighted in the 2023/24 season as Mikel Arteta's men finished in second place, just two points adrift of Man City. Having been so close in recent years, the Gunners will be extra motivated to go that one step further this time. They have a top squad that includes the likes of Martin Odegaard, William Saliba, and Bukayo Saka.

Liverpool

With Jurgen Klopp having left at the end of last season, it might feel strange to some for Liverpool to be tipped as title contenders. However, Arne Slot looks like a quality manager and enjoyed plenty of success at Feyenoord. He has a reputation for developing players and setting up to play attacking football, so he might just pick up where the German left off. Like with Man City and Arsenal, Liverpool's squad is also packed with talent. The main players to look out for include Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo, Virgil van Dijk, and Andrew Robertson.

Manchester United

Many football fans might have raised an eyebrow when they saw the bookies as having Manchester United as the fourth favourites to go on and win the Premier League 24/25. Erik ten Hag remains the manager at Old Trafford for now, and there is a sense that he is building something slowly at Old Trafford. The FA Cup win last season, where they beat City in the final, shows his tactical acumen and how good United can be on their day. However, to do this, they will need someone to put away the chances that Garnacho and Fernandes supply.

⬇️ EPL Relegation Odds

The top of the table is not the only important part of the Premier League table as the three teams that finish at the bottom will be relegated to the Championship. Below you can find the odds that the best football betting sites are currently offering for relegation:

Premier League Relegation Contenders

Let us take a look at why these four teams are being backed for relegation by the top Premier League betting sites.

Leicester City

Despite claiming the Championship title last season, Leicester are the favourites to be relegated come the end of the 2024/25 season. This is mostly because they lost their manager, Enzo Maresca, and one of their best midfielders, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, to Chelsea. They did manage to add the likes of Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Caleb Okoli, but their lack of money has put a big dent in their chances of survival.

Ipswich Town

Ipswich are playing in the EPL for the first time in 22 years, and some might be surprised to see them on this list as they did back-to-back promotions to make it to the "promised land". Their manager, Kieran McKenna, does have some coaching experience in this league with Man United, but it is a whole different ball game being the main man. They were impressive last season in the Championship, but it is going to be tough to adapt to a much higher level.

Southampton

It is not that much of a surprise to see the play-off winners as one of the three favourites to be relegated as Russel Martin has no top-flight coaching experience. They do have some players who have plenty of experience in this league, but it will be a long and hard season for the Saints. Whether they have any success or not will depend on whether Adam Armstrong can prove that he is good enough for the EPL. He scored 24 goals last year but has just four goals in 68 matches in the Premier League.

Everton

In all honesty, I was a bit surprised to see Everton as the fourth favourites to be relegated come May. Last season, without their points deduction, they would have finished in 12th with 48 points. Furthermore, they kept the second-highest number of clean sheets and had the fourth-best defence in the league. Even after losing eight points, they still finished 14 points clear of the drop. Sean Dyche has strengthened well this summer, so I think they will have no issues staying up.

🥅 Premier League Odds - Top Goalscorer

There are individual awards up for grabs, such as the Golden Boot, which is given to the top scorer in the league. Below are the odds that the best UK Premier League betting sites for the top scorer at the end of the season.

Premier League Top Scorer Contenders

Why are these players seen as having the best shot of winning the Golden Boot at the end of the season? Well, let us take a closer look.

Erling Haaland

Haaland is the favourite to win the Golden Boot again due to how lethal he is in front of goal and the City often dominates the games that they play. In just two seasons at the Etihad, he has scored 63 goals in 66 EPL appearances. Last season he played 45 games and scored 38 goals in total. He also takes their penalties, which increases his chances of scoring.

Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian King scored 25 goals in 44 appearances last season, which is even more impressive when we consider the fact that he missed a chunk of the season due to an injury that he picked up on international duty. He looked pretty sharp in Liverpool's pre-season and it will be interesting to see how he performs under Arne Slot.

Alexander Isak

Injury kept the Swede on the sidelines for most of his first season with Newcastle, but he still managed to score 10 goals, while mostly playing on the wing. Last season he had fewer injury issues and was playing as a central attacker, and he managed to find the net 25 times in 40 matches. He is a great finisher and will score plenty this season if he manages to stay fit.

Ollie Watkins

Watkins had one of his best seasons for Villa last year as he managed to score 27 goals in the 53 matches that he played. In the Premier League, he also set up 13 goals, which was more than any other player. Defenders have to be on their A-game when he is on form as he never stops running and is lethal when a chance comes his way - Just ask the Dutch defenders who played in the Euro 2024 semi-final.

🎯 English Premier League Betting Tips

Now that we know the odds for some of the most popular markets, I am now going to give you some of my football betting tips for some upcoming matches.

Newcastle vs Man City

Newcastle will aim to stun reigning champions Manchester City in Matchweek 6 of the Premier League. Despite a recent 3-1 loss to Fulham, Newcastle has shown resilience with back-to-back wins over Tottenham and Wolves, and an unbeaten streak of 10 home matches.

Manchester City, unbeaten this season, recently secured a Carabao Cup win and lead the Premier League with four wins and one draw. City are the top scorers, with Erling Haaland netting 10 goals.

Historically, City has dominated Newcastle, losing just once in their last 13 meetings. Expect a high-scoring match given their past encounters. Consequently, I’ll be tipping a total over 2.5 goals in this matchup.

Tip Probability: 45%

You can find odds of 1.47 for this outcome at Betiton Sports.

Chelsea vs Brighton

Chelsea host Brighton at Stamford Bridge on September 28th, with both teams separated by just one point in the Premier League table. Chelsea come into the match off a dominant 5-0 League Cup win over Barrow and are unbeaten in their last four games across all competitions. Despite their strong run, Chelsea have struggled at home recently, failing to win their last two Premier League fixtures at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, Brighton have been resilient, remaining undefeated in their last seven competitive matches, but have only won one of their last six away league games. Both teams have shown a tendency to score and concede, making this an exciting contest. In Brighton's last 6 games against Chelsea in the Premier League both teams scored. Given Chelsea's recent form and Brighton's difficulties in securing wins on the road, my prediction is for a Chelsea win, with both teams finding the net.

Tip Probability: 65%

You can find odds of 2.95 for this outcome at Betarno Sports.

Wolves vs Liverpool

Liverpool head to Molineux on Saturday looking to secure a second consecutive Premier League win after a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth. Arne Slot’s side has won their last two trips to Wolves and will aim to make it three in a row.

Wolverhampton are struggling, sitting second-bottom in the table with just one point from five matches, and have conceded the joint-most goals in the league so far (14). Meanwhile, Liverpool are in strong form, winning their last three league encounters against Wolves by a two-goal margin.

Despite missing key players like Alisson Becker, who is injured, Liverpool’s defence has kept clean sheets in four of five league games, and their attack, led by Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, has been firing. Wolves, on the other hand, have lost all three home games this season. Based on current form, my prediction is for Liverpool to win by a two-goal margin.

Tip Probability: 60%

If you agree, 10Bet is offering odds of 4.30 for this outcome.

Liverpool vs Man CityLiverpool vs Man City is always a high-quality and tense encounter, even if the two sides occasionally cancel each other out from a tactical perspective. This could certainly be the case here, where there remains so much on the line and a draw would be a respectable result for both teams.
Aston Villa vs Tottenham HotspurWhile Villa’s formidable home form may have dipped of late, they’ve still taken 31 points from the 39 available to them at Villa Park in 2023/24. However, Spurs are resilient and tough to beat on the road, while they’ve recovered 19 points from losing positions so far this season. But how will this evenly matched game play out?
Arsenal vs BrentfordWhile the Gunners are heavy favourites to defeat Brentford at the Emirates, the Bees are always combative and offer a genuine threat in the final third. So, although I expect Arsenal to defeat the West London side, they may well concede and be made to work harder than they have done in recent weeks.

MyriadPlay was only released earlier this year, but it has already become very popular among British football bettors. The reason for this is that they are not shy when it comes to offering competitive odds for a wide variety of football betting markets. You can even find odds boosts and accumulator boosts to make things more intriguing. There is no mobile betting app, but their site makes use of the best HTML5 software, meaning their desktop site can be played without issues on a range of mobile devices.

Those who sign up here can claim a £10 free bet once they have put down a £15 stake. You can see the T&Cs below:

  • New players only
  • £15 minimum deposit

Plenty of bookies offer competitive odds, but GentlemanJim has some of the best around. No matter what it is that you want to bet on, you will always find competitive odds available.

Whether you are betting on the Champions League or the Premier League, there are many different markets available, ensuring that things do not become boring. The most popular ones can be seen below.

Outright Winner

This is a classic market where you are betting on the team that will go on and win the title. Place your bet as early as possible as the odds will vary as the season progresses.

Top Goal Scorer

With such a market, you are betting on the player who will score the most goals in the season. Pick a player and celebrate every goal that they score. This market is popular as it adds more fun to the campaign.

Top 4 Finish

This is where you are betting on whether a team will finish in the top four at the end of the season and book themselves a spot in the Champions League. It does not matter whether they finish 1st or 4th, so long as they are playing UCL football next season.

Bottom Finish

You can also place a bet on the team that will finish at the bottom of the table and get relegated to the Championship. Once again, place your bets early to get the best odds possible.

Acca

With an accumulator, you can combine markets to form higher odds as your selections will be multiplied together. You need to get all of your selections correct for your bet to be a successful one.

💾Premier League Competition Format

There are 20 teams in the EPL, and each team plays everyone twice, once at home and once away. Thus, each season is made up of 380 matches.
