High-flying Arsenal will welcome Newcastle United to the Emirates in Saturday's late kick-off - I am not really sure why there are six Premier League games on Saturday and just the one on Sunday, but it is what it is. Arsenal are hot on the tails of Liverpool and Manchester City, while Newcastle are still aiming to qualify for some sort of European football next season. So, who will go ahead and take a step closer to achieving their aims this season? This prediction of mine will answer that question, and then some.
🏆 Arsenal vs Newcastle United: Who Will Win?
Arsenal have been in top form in the league lately, beating Liverpool 3-1, and then destroying West Ham 6-0 and Burnley 5-0. However, they suffered a major setback in the Champions League as they were defeated 1-0 away to Porto. It is not the result that will irk Arsenal fans, but the manner of their defeat. They had most of the possession, but did absolutely nothing with it, not even managing one shot on target. Fans of the Gunners will be hoping that they can put this shoddy performance behind them ahead of this big game against the Magpies.
Newcastle United had a wonderful season last year, finishing in 4th place and earning themselves a spot in the UCL. However, they were knocked out in the Group Stage and their form in the Premier League has been hampered by several injuries. They are currently sitting in 8th place, and I think that the best they can hope for this season is to finish in 7th and qualify for the Europa Conference League. I think Manchester United, Tottenham, and Villa are too far at this stage.
I do not see that gap closing this round either as I fully expect Arsenal to put Wednesday's performance behind them and get a much-needed win in this match. As for the score, I am going to go with a close 2-1 for the Gunners.
My Prediction: 🏆 Arsenal 2 Newcastle United 1 ⚽
💯 Arsenal vs Newcastle United Match Odds
Mybettingsite's top bookies have already published their odds for this Arsenal vs Newcastle United match, giving you the chance to try your luck on a range of markets ranging from match winner to over/under 2.5 goals to both teams to score. But what exactly are these odds? Well, below you can find the prices for these markets that five of our most-trusted established and new UK betting sites are currently offering.
Arsenal vs Newcastle United: Match Winner Odds
Newcastle won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in November, but the bookies have not let this result influence their odds for this match at the Emirates. They have the Gunners as the big favourites to go on and claim the three points that are on offer. These odds are not much of a shock when you take into account the fact that Newcastle have not won at this ground since November 2010 - a run of 12 matches. Below are the match winner odds:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 1.36 | 1.36 | 1.40 | 1.35 | 1.36 |
Draw | 5.25 | 5.25 | 5.25 | 5.25 | 5.25 |
Newcastle United | 7.05 | 7.05 | 7.50 | 8.00 | 8.00 |
Arsenal vs Newcastle United: Both Teams To Score Odds
Even though Arsenal have conceded the fewest number of goals in the league, the bookies still reckon that both teams will find the back of the net in this one. I think this is a pretty fair assumption, but I will explain why in the next section of this betting guide. For now, just have a gander at the odds that are on offer for this market:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.65 | 1.65 | 1.65 | 1.66 | 1.72 |
No | 2.15 | 2.15 | 2.10 | 2.02 | 2.08 |
Arsenal vs Newcastle United: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds
Since the bookies are backing Arsenal to win this match quite comfortably and are pretty sure that both teams will score, it stands to reason that they also think there will be at least three goals scored in this match. Both teams have not had any issues scoring this season, so below are the over/under 2.5 goals odds that are currently being offered.
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 1.43 | 1.43 | 1.45 | 1.42 | 1.47 |
Under 2.5 | 2.64 | 2.64 | 2.70 | 2.55 | 2.65 |
✔️ Arsenal vs Newcastle United - Betting Tips
I am now going to give you some of my football betting tips for this Arsenal vs Newcastle United match. Whether you are betting with your own money or making use of some free bets, always check out what experienced tipsters are currently thinking.
- Tip 1: Bet on Arsenal to win: Yes, Arsenal will be smarting from that late defeat in Portugal on Wednesday, but they need to remember the form that they have been in lately in the EPL. They have been scoring goals for fun and even beat the league leaders, Liverpool, not too long ago. Furthermore, Newcastle have a poor record at the Emirates, which should play into Arsenal's hands. If you want to back Arsenal to win, then you can find odds of 1.40 at 10Bet Sport.
- Tip 2: Bet on both teams to score: Arsenal have only conceded 8 goals in their previous 10 EPL matches, so I can understand if you are tempted to put your money on both teams not to score. However, we need to keep in mind the fact that Newcastle have scored 53 goals in their 25 matches - that is an average of 2.12 per match. Only the top three teams have scored more than them. We also all know how deadly Arsenal can be in front of goal. I am sure that both teams will score, and BetUK Sports are offering odds of 1.72.
- Tip 3: Bet on Saka to score: The young Englishman has played a hand in 20 goals for Arsenal this season, with 12 goals and 8 assists. He has been in pretty good form lately and is likely to take any penalties that might fall Arsenal's way. I think he will score, and you can find odds of 2.35 at Mr. Mega Sports.
- Tip 4: Bet on a 2-1 win for Arsenal: I think Newcastle will give Arsenal a good game, but I think Arsenal's firepower and strong defence will be enough to give Arteta's men a narrow 2-1 victory. If you want to back a 2-1 scoreline, then Betiton Sport are offering odds of 7.80.
One final tip that I have to give you before we move on with this prediction is to gamble responsibly at all times. You need to set yourself a budget and stick to it. Never chase your losses as this usually leads to more lost money.
Arsenal Update
At the start of the 2023/24 campaign, many had Arsenal down as contenders for the title, and this is exactly how things have turned out. They are currently sitting five points adrift of Liverpool in first, but they do have a game in hand over their title rivals. The Gunners really cannot afford to drop points between now and the end of the season as I do not see Liverpool or City being generous.
Arsenal's league success this season can be put down to the fact that they have been lethal in front of goal and stingy at the back. They are averaging 2.32 goals per game and have conceded an average of just 0.88 goals per game.

2️⃣Newcastle United Update
Newcastle United fans would have hoped to see their team battling it out for another crack at the Champions League next season, but it has not petered out this way. It might have done had Eddie Howe not had to contend with an injury list as long as his arm for most of the season.
They are currently sitting in 8th place in the table with 37 points from their 25 matches. This leaves them 12 points off Villa, who occupy the final Champions League spot - unless England improves their co-efficient and they earn a 5th UCL qualification spot for this season. They should aim for a Europa League spot, but even a 10-point gap is a stiff one to climb with 13 matches remaining.
