In every round of Premier League matches you will find a match that really does not appeal to the neutral, and Crystal Palace vs Burnley on the 24th of February at 15:00 GMT is one such match. I reckon that only fans of these two clubs will tune in to this match, and the very bravest of neutrals among us. But, more importantly, who will claim the points that are on offer? We will all have our different opinions, which is what makes sport so great, and below you can find all of mine.
🏆 Crystal Palace vs Burnley: Who Will Win?
Crystal Palace are currently sitting in 15th place in the league table with 25 points from 25 matches, which gives them a 5-point cushion on the Relegation Zone. When it comes to their form over the last ten rounds of matches, only Sheffield United, Brentford, and Burnley have performed worse than them. From their previous 10 matches, they have picked up just nine points, so you can understand why they were happy with a point from their dull draw against Everton on Monday.
Burnley were one of the favourites to be relegated at the start of the season, and they have gone on to show us all why this was the case. From their 25 matches, they have picked up just 3 wins, and are now sitting seven points adrift of safety in 19th place. From their remaining 13 matches, they probably need to win at least half of them to stay up, and I have never been one to believe in miracles.
I am not envisaging an entertaining game here, and I think the points will be shared. As for the final scoreline, I would be willing to back a 1-1. More on this later on.
My Prediction: 🏆 Crystal Palace 1 Burnley1 ⚽
💯 Crystal Palace vs Burnley Match Odds
There are many betting options when it comes to football, but the bets that you go for will obviously be dependent on the odds that the bookies are offering. There is no point in betting on something if the odds are not very favourable. There are three very popular football wagers, and these have been listed below:
- Match winner
- Both teams to score
- Over/Under 2.5 goals
In the following tables, you can find the current odds that five quality British bookies are offering for the above markets in relation to this Crystal Palace vs Burnley game.
Crystal Palace vs Burnley: Match Winner Odds
The five established and new UK betting sites that I have picked out for you have Crystal Palace as the favourites for this game, but their odds tell us that they are not entirely sure as to which way this match will go. With both teams playing pretty poor football as of late, it is easy to see why they are not so sure. Although, Palace fans will be hoping for a new manager bounce. Below are the match winner odds for this game:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Crystal Palace | 1.93 | 1.930 | 2.00 | 1.94 | 1.95 |
Draw | 3.40 | 3.40 | 3.40 | 3.40 | 3.45 |
Burnley | 3.75 | 3.75 | 3.80 | 4.00 | 4.00 |
Crystal Palace vs Burnley: Both Teams To Score Odds
With regard to the both teams to score market, the bookies are sitting on the proverbial fence, and I am in agreement with them on this one. Neither of these teams are scoring machines, so there is every possibility that this match ends up without any goals or just the one. You can find the both teams to score odds below:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.85 | 1.85 | 1.85 | 1.82 | 1.88 |
No | 1.86 | 1.86 | 1.85 | 1.82 | 1.88 |
Crystal Palace vs Burnley: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds
When it comes to the total goals that will be scored in this match, they are pretty sure that there will be no more than two goals. The bookmakers seem to agree with me when I say that this is definitely not one of those matches for the neutrals. It could end up being more entertaining to watch paint dry instead. Below are the over/under 2.5 goals odds that are on offer:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 2.03 | 2.03 | 2.05 | 2.02 | 2.08 |
Under 2.5 | 1.69 | 1.69 | 1.75 | 1.71 | 1.77 |

✔️ Crystal Palace vs Burnley - Betting Tips
You should always take five to ten minutes to check out some football betting tips before you jump in and finalise a wager, even if you are making use of some free bets that your bookmaker has provided you with. So, with this in mind, below you can find four pieces of betting advice for this Palace vs Burnley match.
- Tip 1: Bet on a draw: For me, this match has draw written all over it. Neither side are lethal in front of goal, and most of their recent matches against each other have been low-scoring affairs. I think that these two teams will cancel each other out over the course of the 90 minutes, and will share the spoils. This will suit Palace more than it will Burnley. If you want to back the draw, then you can find odds of 3.45 at BetUK Sports.
- Tip 2: Back both teams to score: While I think that this will be a game that is lacking in goals, I do still think that both teams will manage to find the back of the net due to their defensive deficiencies. Furthermore, another reason to back BTTS is the fact that 67% of Palace's home matches and 67% of Burnley's away matches this season have had this exact outcome. If you want to back BTTS, then BetUK Sports are offering odds of 1.88 at the moment.
- Tip 3: Bet on Under 2.5 goals: I do not think that we will get three or more goals in this match and the stats somewhat back me up here. From Palace's home games this season, three or more goals have been scored just 58% of the time, and the same percentage actually applies to Burnley's away matches. If you go into this game expecting goals galore, you will probably come away pretty disappointed. At the time of writing, you can find odds of 1.77 for this market at BetUK.
- Tip 4: Bet on a 1-1 draw: For me, the most likely outcome for this match is a 1-1 stalemate that will not really help either team's cause. If you also think that this is how this match will end, then Betiton Sport are offering odds of 6.25 for this final scoreline.
N.B. One final and very important tip that I can give you is to always make sure that you gamble responsibly and never chase your losses.

Crystal Palace Update
Crystal Palace fans will be hoping for some sort of new manager bounce as Oliver Glasner will be taking over the reins from Roy Hodgson. He will, however, have his work cut out for him as he is inheriting a pretty average group of players. Although they do have some diamonds in their squad that the Austrian will look to get the best out of such as Olise, Eze, and Guehi.
They are one of those clubs that seem to lack ambition, with their only aim each season being to earn another season in the English Premier League. It must be pretty depressing being an Eagles fan at times. With just two wins from their previous ten matches, they really are in dire need of picking up some Ws. I reckon they need around 12 more points to guarantee themselves another lacklustre EPL season.

Glasner has several injury issues that will make picking his first Palace starting XI a lot trickier than what he would have hoped for. You can see their missing players for this match against Burnley in the table below:

2️⃣Burnley Update
For me, Burnley are all but relegated from the Premier League as they need at least another 7 wins to give themselves a chance of survival. They have only won three matches all season, so it is hard to see them winning a little over half of their remaining 13 games. The players should just enjoy their time left in the EPL ahead of another gruelling slog in the Championship, which is one of the hardest leagues in world football.
They are at the bottom of the Premier League form table, having picked up just 6 points from the last 30 points that have been available to them. During this time, they have shipped 2.2 goals per match, while averaging just the one goal per game. It really is not hard to see why they have been so poor this season.
