When this Premier League match kicks off at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, Liverpool could find themselves sitting in second place - a position that they have not occupied for a while. With Manchester City hot on their tails, they really cannot afford to drop any points between now and the end of the season as I do not see City slipping up much. They also have a game in hand, which Jurgen Klopp and his men will be well aware of. Will Liverpool claim an expected three points, or will Burnley get three very important points in their fight against Relegation? Read on to find out all of my views.
🏆 Liverpool vs Burnley: Who Will Win?
Not too long ago, many pundits and fans had Liverpool down as the shoo-ins for the title but, as I expected, Manchester City have come back with a vengeance after many had written them off after a little drop in form. They will be looking to bounce back after their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday evening - only their second defeat of the campaign so far. That loss definitely would not have done Burnley any favours as Klopp's men will be eager to set things right.
Vincent Kompany's young Burnley side were one of the candidates for relegation at the start of the season, and they have struggled to compete in this league. They have picked up just the three wins all season and are currently seven points adrift of Luton in 17th place. They probably need another seven wins from their remaining 15 games to stay in the league, and I just cannot see where those wins are going to come from.
For me, this should be a routine win for Liverpool as they are just so much better than Burnley. When it comes to my score prediction, I will opt for a 3-0 win for the home side.
My Prediction: 🏆 Liverpool 3 Burnley 0 ⚽
💯 Liverpool vs Burnley Match Odds
Three of the most popular football betting markets that I like to take a look at for every Premier League fixture are:
- Match winner
- Both teams to score
- Over/Under 2.5 goals
All bookies, whether they are established or new UK betting sites, will offer odds for these three markets due to their popularity. Below I am going to take a look at the Liverpool vs Burnley odds that five quality bookies are offering for the above markets.
If you want to find out more about these bookmakers, then you can read our reviews by simply clicking on the logos provided. You can find out all about the free bets that are on offer as well as other top promotions.
Liverpool vs Burnley: Match Winner Odds
Given the fact that Liverpool have lost fewer games than Burnley have won, it will not be much of a shock to find out that Liverpool are the overwhelming favourites to go on and win the match. In fact, their odds are so low that I would not recommend putting down a single bet for them to win as you would need to risk too much for little reward. However, you can make up your own mind after you have checked out the match winner odds below:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Liverpool | 1.13 | 1.13 | 1.14 | 1.14 | 1.14 |
Draw | 7.90 | 7.90 | 7.50 | 8.50 | 8.50 |
Burnley | 14.40 | 14.40 | 17.00 | 17.00 | 17.00 |
Liverpool vs Burnley: Both Teams To Score Odds
Sometimes you can tell that the bookmakers do not know which way a certain market will go, and this is the case for the both teams to score market for this Liverpool vs Burnley game. There definitely is a case for either option in this match, and you will be able to find out my view in the next section of this guide. However, for now, take a minute or two to check out the both teams to score odds below:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.99 | 1.99 | 1.85 | 1.88 | 1.94 |
No | 1.73 | 1.73 | 1.85 | 1.77 | 1.83 |
Liverpool vs Burnley: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds
When it comes to the number of goals that will be scored in this game, the bookmakers reckon that it is a formality that there will be more than 2.5 goals scored in this game. Since they do not think that both teams will find the back of the net, it tells us that they believe that Liverpool will find the back of the net at least three times. Below are the over/under 2.5 goals odds that are on offer:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 1.28 | 1.28 | 1.33 | 1.27 | 1.30 |
Under 2.5 | 3.26 | 3.26 | 3.30 | 3.25 | 3.45 |
✔️ Liverpool vs Burnley - Betting Tips
It is always a wise move to have a look at some football betting tips from some experts before you go and place any kind of bet on a sporting event. This is why I am now going to give you my betting advice for this Liverpool vs Burnley match.
- Tip 1: Put a Liverpool win in an accy: Liverpool will go on and win this match, that I am pretty sure of. However, betting on Liverpool to win in a single wager is not worth it due to their short odds. Instead, I recommend that you add Liverpool to win to an accumulator to boost the odds slightly. At the time of writing, LeoVegas are offering odds of 1.14 for Klopp's men to win.
- Tip 2: Bet on both teams not to score: Burnley have struggled for goals this season while Liverpool have one of the best defensive records in the league. Furthermore, both teams have scored in only 55% of the matches that have been played at Anfield this season. So, for me, everything is pointing towards a Liverpool win and a clean sheet. At the time of writing, 10Bet Sport are offering odds of 1.85 for both teams not to score.
- Tip 3: Bet on over 2.5 goals: There have been three or more goals in four of Liverpool's previous six matches, while three of Burnley's previous six games have seen at least three goals. Liverpool are averaging an impressive 2.26 goals per match, while Burnley have been conceding just over 2 goals per game. There should be goals in this game, so I am happy to back over 2.5 goals being scored. However, it is best to add this market to an accy. You can find odds of 1.33 at 10Bet Sport.
- Tip 4: Bet on Liverpool to win 3-0: If you are the kind of person who likes to try and predict the correct score of a match because of the high odds that are usually on offer, then my score prediction for this match is Liverpool to win 3-0. If you agree with this, then Betiton Sport are currently offering odds of 6.60.
1️⃣Liverpool Update
Liverpool fans would have gotten used to seeing their team at the top of the table, but they could be sitting in second place before the first ball of this match is kicked - unless Manchester City suffer a bit of a shock defeat at the hands of Everton. Liverpool have been the most consistent team in the league this season, but the fact that they have not been able to pull away from Man City, Arsenal, and even Aston Villa is a testament to the strength of the Premier League. They have lost just two games this season and have been finding the back of the net regularly while being extremely tricky to score against.

Jurgen Klopp will be missing some key players ahead of this clash with Burnley, but it should not prevent them from picking up the three points that are on offer. You can see the Liverpool absentees in the table below:

2️⃣Burnley Update
Burnley have only managed to pick up 13 points from the 69 that have been available so far, and it really is hard to see them beating the drop. When you are averaging just over one goal per game and conceding just over two, then there is little hope for survival. They need at least seven to eight more wins to give them a shot at survival, which is around half of their remaining fixtures. Yeah, in my view, they are pretty much doomed to return to the Championship.
