However, they could only muster a draw, and now they have it all to do to book a spot in the Round of 16.
Italy, who are the reigning champions, are currently sitting second in Group B having won one and lost one of their first two matches. They would be the first to admit that they got a little fortunate in their 2-1 win over Albania, while they will also probably admit that they were lucky to lose by just the solitary goal to Spain. They are not the team that they used to be, but you can never rule out the Italians at international level until they have been officially eliminated.
If Italy avoid defeat, they more than likely book themselves a spot in the next round. They have always been pretty good defensively, so I can see them doing enough to get a point.
