Portugal's final match of Euro 2024 sees them take on Georgia at the Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen on the 26th of June. This match has a kick-off time of 20:00 GMT, so make sure you have all of the chores done before then. Portugal have already qualified as group F winners, while Georgia are still in with a shot of qualifying in second or third place. Will Portugal pick up an expected win or will Georgia create a little bit of history? Check out my prediction below to find out what I think will go down.
🏆 Georgia vs Portugal Prediction
Georgia might not make it out of the group, but they can be proud of their performances at their first ever European Championship no matter what happens. They have been one of the most entertaining teams in the tournament, despite being the lowest ranked country. They have played with pride and passion and have given their all, which is something Gareth Southgate’s England could try to emulate.
Portugal were one of my dark horses ahead of this competition, and they have breezed through their group. Even if they were to suffer a shock defeat to Georgia this evening, they would not relinquish their spot at the top of the table due to their head-to-head record against the Turks. They brushed Turkiye aside in their last match 3-0, and the bookmakers will be expecting a similar result here.
While I think Portugal will have too much for Georgia in the end, I can see Georgia giving the Portuguese a hard time with their direct and aggressive play. I would not be surprised if this match ended 2-1 in Portugal's favour.
My Prediction: 🏆 Georgia 1 Portugal 2 ⚽

🏅 Georgia vs Portugal: Match Winner Odds
These two teams have only met once in their history, which was a friendly way back in 2008. Portugal ended up winning that game 2-0, but we cannot use that as a gauge for this next fixture as it was 16 years ago. The bookies, as expected, are not giving Georgia much hope of getting anything out of this match, and you can see the match winner odds in the table below.
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Georgia | 8.05 | 8.05 | 7.50 | 7.50 | 7.50 |
Draw | 4.95 | 4.95 | 5.00 | 4.90 | 4.90 |
Portugal | 1.35 | 1.35 | 1.36 | 1.40 | 1.40 |
⚽ Georgia vs Portugal: Both Teams To Score Odds
The bookmakers think that this will be a very comfortable win for Portugal and they are backing them to keep their second clean sheet of the tournament. I can see Georgia getting a consolation goal, as you already know from my previous score prediction, which gives us the chance to place down a value bet. Below are the both teams to score odds:
BTTS | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.97 | 1.97 | 1.95 | 1.80 | 1.86 |
No | 1.78 | 1.78 | 1.75 | 1.76 | 1.82 |
🥅 Georgia vs Portugal: Over/Under Goals Odds
The bookmakers are also pretty confident that there will be over 2.5 goals scored in this match. Since they believe that Portugal will win this match and that both teams will not score, this tells us that the bookies believe that a very likely score for this match is a 3-0 win for Roberto Martinez and his men. Below are the over/under 2.5 goals odds:
Over/Under 2.5 Goals | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 1.65 | 1.65 | 1.70 | 1.60 | 1.65 |
Under 2.5 | 2.11 | 2.11 | 2.10 | 2.17 | 2.23 |
✔️ Georgia vs Portugal Betting Tips
My betting guide has provided you with some of the best Georgia vs Portugal odds around at the moment, and now I am going to give you some top Georgia vs Portugal betting tips.
Whenever you place a wager on any football match, even when you have a free bet to use, you should always ensure that you gamble responsibly. Set a budget with an amount that you know you can afford to potentially lose and stick to it. If you stop having fun, stop gambling.
- Tip 1: Bet on a Portugal win: Portugal have impressed me so far - not only have they been mean in defence but they have also not had any issues when it comes to finding the back of the net. They will not take Georgia lightly as they gave both Turkiye and Czechia a hard time, but Portugal's quality, especially in the attacking third, should be enough to see them make it three wins from three. Those who agree can find odds of 1.40 at BetUk Sport.
- Tip 2: Bet on both teams to score: The bookmakers do not think that Georgia will breach Portugal's defence, but I think that they have the talent to do so. They play direct, quick, and aggressive attacking football on the counter, and Portugal's defensive line is not blessed with a lot of pace. I would not be surprised if Geogia gave their fans a consolation goal to cheer, and 10Bet Sport are offering odds of 1.95 at present.
- Tip 3: Back Diogo Jota to score: Portugal will rest some of their starting XI for this match, which means that Diogo Jota will probably start the game. I am a big fan of the Liverpool forward as he causes defenders all sorts of issues with his pace and guile. Georgia will have their hands full with him and I can see him notching his 15th international goal. If you think so too, then LeoVegas are offering odds of 2.65 for him to score.
- Tip 4: Back a 2-1 win for Portugal: Portugal, as mentioned above, will make some changes for this match as they have already topped the group, but they should still have enough talent to pick up their third win. I have seen enough of Georgia to believe that they will score a consolation goal in what will end up being quite a tight match. If you think this game will end 2-1 to Portugal, then Betiton Sport are offering odds of 7.80 at present.
1️⃣Georgia Update
Georgia entered this competition as the lowest ranked team and only managed to qualify due to their position in their UEFA Nations League group. However, given their performances over their last two matches, you would not think that this was the case. In fact, I would say that they have played much better football than two of the tournament favourites in the shape of England and France. They might end up going out this evening, but they will be able to leave with their heads held high.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the main man for Georgia, and I feel sorry for any fan who paid to have his name printed on the back of his shirt. He currently plays in the Serie A for Napoli and was their star player when they won the Scudetto a couple of seasons back. Even when he does not have the ball, he draws defenders out of position as they are worried about him. He is averaging a goal every two games for his country. Below are their previous five results:

2️⃣Portugal Update
Ahead of this competition, I was actually quite surprised that the bookmakers were not giving Portugal much chance of going on to lift the title. For me, they have just as much of a chance as the likes of England, France, and Germany. Although Spain are my main contenders from what I have seen so far. In order to win such a competition, a team needs to be stingy at the back and lethal in front of goal. Portugal have some top defenders in the shape of Pepe, Dias and Dalot, while some of their top attacking players include Leao, Silva, Fernandes, and Ronaldo.
Earlier I backed Jota to score, but if you do not want to back him to find the back of the net, then you could always stump some money on Ronaldo. We all know how good he is, despite his age, and it would be a surprise if he were to not score at this tournament. Below are their previous five results:

---|---|
Turkiye0 Portugal3 | 22.06.24 UEFA EURO 2024 |

Martinez will be missing just the one player for this match, but it is likely that he would have rested him anyway. Below you can see who this is:
