After four weeks and 50 matches, only two teams remain at Euro 2024 and these are Spain and England. These two heavyweights of European international football will clash at the Olympiastadion in Berlin for the right to call themselves the kings of Europe. Will Spain pick up their fourth European title or will England defy the odds and win the European Championship for the first time in their history? This final prediction of mine aims to answer that question and more, so let's crack on.
🏆 Spain vs England Prediction
For most football fans and pundits, Spain have been the best team in the competition, and it is hard to disagree with that. They were in the hardest group, and they navigated through it with ease, winning all three matches, and they have serenely made their way through the knockout stages. Their toughest match so far came against the hosts, Germany, in the quarter-finals but they showed their resilient side and came out on top. France put in their best performance of the tournament against Spain in the semi-finals, but it was still barely enough to truly trouble the Spanish.
England were the favourites ahead of the tournament starting, but they rode their luck to make it to the final. Their football was average at best in the group stage, and they were just 75 seconds away from being eliminated by Slovakia in the round of 16. They also had to come from behind against the Swiss, who they beat on penalties, and the Netherlands, who they beat 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Ollie Watkins. They have been getting better as the tournament progresses and they never know when they are beaten, which will give England fans a glimmer of hope ahead of Sunday's big match.
While I think England will be able to give Spain a scare, I think the Spanish will have too much in the end for Southgate's men and they will have to settle for second place once again. As for the scoreline, I am going to go for a 2-1 win for Spain.
My Prediction: 🏆 Spain 2 England 1 ⚽
💯 Spain vs England Betting Odds
Like I have done with the 50 previous Euro 2024 matches, I am now going to give you some established and top new UK betting sites that I feel are the best bookies for those who are considering betting on this Spain vs England match. You will also find the odds that they are currently offering for three top markets: Match winner, both teams to score, and over/under 2.5 goals.
If you want to find out more about the five sports betting sites below, then you can easily do so by visiting our bookmaker reviews section. You should always find out as much information as you can about a bookmaker before you register with them.
🏅 Spain vs England: Match Winner Odds
England and Spain have played a total of 27 matches against each other and England are leading the way with 14 wins to Spain's 10 - there has been a total of three draws. The last time that they met each other was back in the UEFA Nations League in 2018, which England went on to win 3-2. However, this match was too long ago to have any real bearing on the outcome of this final.
The bookmakers have Spain as the favourites to win this match and the title, which is not much of a surprise when you take into consideration how both teams have performed throughout this competition. If you want to bet on the winner of this match, then take a gander at the match winner odds below:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Spain | 2.34 | 2.34 | 2.34 | 2.43 | 2.43 |
Draw | 2.77 | 2.77 | 2.77 | 2.85 | 2.85 |
England | 3.40 | 2.51 | 3.40 | 3.50 | 3.50 |
⚽ Spain vs England: Both Teams To Score Odds
Finals are usually cagey affairs, so it is not that surprising that the bookies believe that there is a greater chance of both teams not finding the back of the net. However, there is plenty of attacking talent on both sides, and you know from my earlier prediction that I believe both teams will score in this game. There is betting value to be had in this market, and you can find the latest both teams to score odds below:
BTTS | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.98 | 1.98 | 1.98 | 1.92 | 1.98 |
No | 1.74 | 1.74 | 1.74 | 1.68 | 1.74 |
🥅 Spain vs England: Over/Under Goals Odds
My five selected bookies are pretty certain that there will be over 1.5 goals scored in this game, while they are just as certain that there will not be over 2,5 goals. Since they have Spain as the favourites and think that both teams will not score, the total goals odds indicate that they think a 2-0 win for Spain is a very possible outcome. Those who want to put money on the over/under 2.5 goals odds can have a gander at the table below:
Over/Under 2.5 Goals | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 2.44 | 2.44 | 2.44 | 2.43 | 2.50 |
Under 2.5 | 1.48 | 1.48 | 1.48 | 1.47 | 1.52 |
✔️ Spain vs England Betting Tips
Now that you know the latest Spain vs England odds for three popular football markets, I am now going to take some time to provide you with my top Spain vs England betting tips.
If you have some free bets that you are thinking of using on this final, I know that you might be tempted to slap them on an outcome which comes with long odds. While the potential returns might look intriguing, what you will be doing is wasting your promotion as the chances of it coming through are very slim. Take the time to read some top tips and then you can make the best use of your free bet promotions.
- Tip 1: Bet on a Spain win: Spain have been the best team in Germany, and it is hard to look beyond them claiming the title. When they have the ball in their possession it is very hard to get it off of them, while they also have dangerous players all across the pitch. They attack with pace and aggression and I am struggling to see England's defence being able to cope with their skill. I can see Spain winning this within the 90 minutes, and those who agree can find odds of 2.43 at BetUK Sports.
- Tip 2: Back both teams to score: The bookies do not think that England will find the back of the net, but if Spain play the attacking football that they are known for then this could leave space at the back for England's talented attackers to exploit. They have not been at their best in Germany, but you do not want to give the likes of Saka, Foden, and Bellingham space that they can run into. If you, like me, think that both teams will score, then you can find odds of 1.98 at MyriadPlay.
- Tip 3: Put money on Dani Olmo to score: The RB Leipzig man has scored three goals at this tournament and is in with a shout of claiming the title and the Golden Boot. He showed his class with his winning goal against France in the semi-final, and the England defenders will need to be at their best to prevent him from causing too much damage. Those who want to back Olmo to score can find 6.25 at LeoVegas Sports.
- Tip 4: Bet on a 2-1 final score for Spain: Betting on the correct score of a match is a market that I always like to have a look at as the odds can be quite enticing at times. It is one of those markets where you can put down a small stake and still see some decent returns. You already know why I think Spain will win the game 2-1, and Betiton Sport are currently offering odds of 9.20 for this outcome.
n.b. Gambling responsibly is really important whenever you are betting on sports. You need to set up a realistic budget and make sure that you stick to it no matter what. Furthermore, you should consider setting a daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limit. Do not get into the habit of chasing your losses.
1️⃣Spain Update
Spain were one of the outsiders to go on and win the title before the competition started, and it is safe to say that they have made a mockery of those odds with their stylish and ruthless football. Despite being in a tough group with Italy, Croatia, and Albania, they won all three matches, scoring five goals and conceding none. In fact, they have conceded just three goals in the six matches that they have played. They are also the leading scorers in the competition as they have managed to score 13 goals, which averages out at 2.17 goals per game.
While I backed Olmo to find the back of the net, one other Spanish player who I will be keeping an eye on in this final is Lamine Yamal. He will turn 17 on Saturday, but he already has 13 international caps to his name and is a regular player for Barcelona. He showed us just how good he is with his wonderful finish against France on Tuesday, and I can see him giving the England defenders a torrid time. Below are Spain's previous five results:

Luis de la Fuente has two injury concerns that he will need to take into consideration when he is picking his starting XI to take on England. You can see the two absentees below:

Pedri | Knee Injury |
Alvaro Morata | Knock |
2️⃣England Update
Even the most optimistic of England fans will tell you that Gareth Southgate's men have not been playing impressive football at this European Championship. They topped their group with a stodgy 1-0 win against Serbia and a draw against Denmark and Slovenia. They were rewarded with a round-of-16 match against Slovakia and they would have been eliminated had it not been for a quality overhead kick by Bellingham. They were taken all the way by the Swiss in the quarter-final and won with some of the most nerveless penalties you will see, while their best display of the competition came in the first half of the semi-final against the Dutch, which they went on to win 2-1. They might not be playing the best football, but they have made themselves very hard to beat and seem to have plenty of self-belief.
For me, Bukayo Saka has been England's best player at Euro 2024. He might only have the one goal to his name, which was a lifesaver against Switzerland, but he has caused plenty of issues for all the defenders that he has come up against. He has put in several delicious crosses too, but nobody busted a gut to get on the end of them. If England are to win this game, Saka will need to cause Cucurella a world of problems. Below are England's previous five results:
Last 5 Matches | |
---|---|
Netherlands1 England2 | 10.07.24 UEFA EURO 2024 Semi-Final |
Switzerland1 England1 | 06.07.24 UEFA EURO 2024 Quarter-Final |
England1 Slovakia1 | 30.06.24 UEFA EURO 2024 Round of 16 |
England1 Slovenia1 | 25.06.24 UEFA EURO 2024 Group Stage |
Denmark1 England1 | 20.06.24 UEFA EURO 2024 Group Stage |
Southgate currently has no injury issues or suspensions to deal with when he is picking his starting XI to take on Spain.
