Euro 2024 seems to be flying by as we are soon entering the final round of the Group Stage - the final two matches from each group will be played simultaneously to ensure that no pre-meditated results occur. Switzerland will take on Germany in their final group match at 20:00 GMT at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt, knowing that a draw will be enough to see them finish in second place. Will they be able to get the result that they need or will Germany keep marching on? Read on to find out my views.
🏆 Switzerland vs Germany: Who Will Win?
The Swiss are sitting pretty on four points from their first two matches. In their first game, they put in a very solid performance to comfortably dispatch Hungary, while in their second they drew 1-1 with Scotland. Their performance against the Scots was a little bit off, but they will be content with a point as Scotland were never going to be as bad as they were against Germany. However, if they perform like that against the Germans, then they will be put to the sword.
Germany, with two wins from two, have already assured themselves of a place in the top two, and they have been one of the teams that have impressed me the most so far. In their first game, they destroyed Scotland 5-1 and in their second match, they picked up a very comfortable 2-0 win against Hungary. They have coasted through the group so far, barely breaking a sweat, and I do not see this changing against Switzerland.
The Swiss will be the hardest challenge for the Germans so far, but I still expect Germany to come out on top in this one as they have quality all over the field. Regarding the scoreline, I am going for a 3-1 win.
My Prediction: 🏆 Switzerland 1 Germany 3 ⚽
💯 Switzerland vs Germany Match Odds
Any established or new UK betting sites will have odds and markets for big football events such as Euro 2024, but the quality will not always be the same. Since I know that you will want to bet at the best bookies around, below you can find five top sports betting sites for betting on this Germany vs Switzerland match. I have given you the odds that there are currently offering for match winner, both teams to score, and over/under 2.5 goals.
If you want to find out more about any of these bookies before registering, you can do so on our bookmaker reviews.
🏅 Switzerland vs Germany: Match Winner Odds
You should always check out previous match results between two teams before you put a match winner wager down as this can give you a good idea as to how their next meeting will play out. These two teams last played in 2020 in the UEFA Nations League, with both matches ending in a draw. Overall, the Swiss have won just nine times from the 52 matches that these two countries have played.
Despite their two draws in their previous meetings, the bookies are not giving Switzerland much hope of picking a point that would see them through as group runners-up. Below you can see the match winner odds that are currently on offer:
Team | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Switzerland | 4.85 | 4.85 | 4.75 | 4.90 | 4.90 |
Draw | 3.80 | 3.80 | 3.75 | 3.85 | 3.85 |
Germany | 1.68 | 1.68 | 1.70 | 1.70 | 1.70 |
⚽ Switzerland vs Germany: Both Teams To Score Odds
While the bookmakers do not think that Switzerland will get any points out of this game, they do at least think that the Swiss will be able to get the ball past Neuer in the Germany goal. I see them having the ability to do that too, and below you can find the both teams to score odds:
BTTS | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Yes | 1.71 | 1.71 | 1.72 | 1.68 | 1.74 |
No | 2.05 | 2.05 | 2.00 | 1.92 | 1.98 |
🥅 Switzerland vs Germany: Over/Under 2.5 Goals Odds
Since the bookies think that both teams will score in this game and that Germany will ultimately go on to win, it stands to reason that they also believe that there will be at least three goals scored in this game. If you like to take a punt on this market, then check out the over/under 2.5 goals odds below:
Over/Under 2.5 Goals | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Over 2.5 | 1.75 | 1.75 | 1.80 | 1.71 | 1.77 |
Under 2.5 | 1.97 | 1.97 | 2.00 | 1.96 | 2.02 |
✔️ Switzerland vs Germany - Betting Tips
Now that you have become privy to some top Switzerland vs Germany odds for the most popular markets, I am now going to use this in-depth betting guide to give you some quality Switzerland vs Germany betting tips.
Even if you have some free bets to use, I recommend that you still take the time to check out what some top tipsters are predicting for a match before you bet on it. This way you can try to get the best use of out of your free wager.
- Tip 1: Bet on Germany to win: Germany were one of the outside favourites to lift the title ahead of this competition, but from what I have seen of them so far I believe that they should be one of the favourites. They have played much better football than the pre-tournament favourites England and France. Switzerland have been their usual dogged selves, but it will take more than stubbornness to beat this German team. I do not think they have the quality to win this match, and BetUK Sports are offering odds of 1.70.
- Tip 2: Bet on both teams to score: Germany have conceded just the one goal in the two matches that they have played, and this was an own goal in their match against Scotland. They have barely been troubled defensively, but I can see that changing against a Swiss team that has better attacking quality than Scotland and Hungary. I can see the Swiss getting a consolation goal, and those who also see this happening can find odds of 1.74 at BetUK Sports.
- Tip 3: Bet on Musiala to score: There have been plenty of impressive performances so far, but the one player that has stood out to me is Musiala. He has been on fire and the Swiss defenders are probably already having nightmares thinking about him. Not only is he very quick, but he also has quality ball control. He was the player of the match against Scotland and Hungary and I would not be surprised if he was named Player of the Match three times in a row. I think he will score his third goal of the tournament, and LeoVegas are offering odds of 4.20
- Tip 4: Bet on a 3-1 win for Germany: If you are looking for a risky bet that usually comes with long odds, then look no further than the correct score market. I believe that this match will end 3-1 in Germany's favour due to their vastly superior attacking talent, and those who agree can find odds of 11.20 at Betiton Sport.
N.B. Always gamble responsibly by setting up a budget and deposit limits. Stop when the fun stops.
1️⃣Switzerland Update
Switzerland are already assured of a top three finish, so even if they were to lose this match and finish third in Group A they would still be playing in the Round of 16 - although, they would be playing the winner of Group E or F, which will obviously be a harder assignment. There is a chance that Switzerland and Scotland will both finish on four points, but the Swiss would likely finish higher thanks to their superior goal difference. Unless, of course, they also suffer a battering at the hands of the Germans.
The player to look out for on the Swiss team in this match has got to be Granit Xhaka. The Bayer Leverkusen man is the lynchpin in the middle of the field for the Swiss, and the Germans cannot afford to give him space to pick his passes or unleash a shot. Below are their previous five results:

Murat Yakin has been a little unfortunate with injuries as he has three players who will be absent for this clash. You can see who these are below:

Denis Zakaria | Thigh Injury |
Fabian Schar | Broken Nose |
Steven Zuber | Calf Injury |
2️⃣ Germany Update
The pressure is off Germany in this match because they have already secured their passage into the Round of 16. However, they will want to finish top of the group to get an easier match in the knockout rounds and also to keep their momentum going. They are the top scorers in the competition with seven goals, while their defence has been on point as they have conceded just one own goal.
Apart from Musiala, other players that are well worth keeping an eye on in this Germany team include Wirtz and Havertz. Wirtz was one of the standout performers for Leverkusen in the season just passed, while Havertz has the pace and skill to cause the best defenders issues. Below are their previous five results:
