With Royal Ascot now looming close and the markets for all 35 races at the meeting formed with many bookmakers, it's a good time to start thinking about which horses to bet on at the meeting. Below are four tips for Royal Ascot 2024 to hopefully uncover some winners.
Tip 1: Inspiral to Win the Queen Anne Stakes
A winner at Royal Ascot in 2022 when she surpassed her rivals in the Coronation Stakes, Inspiral was only narrowly denied last summer in this race by rank outsider Triple Time. She warmed up for her return to Royal Ascot with a defeat in the Lockinge at Newbury last month, but joint-trainer John Gosden has stated that she will improve lots for that run and she can gain a second Royal Ascot success at odds of 3.50.
Tip 2: Vauban Each-Way in the Gold Cup
Ante-post favourite Kyprios is expected by many to regain the Gold Cup - a race he won in 2022 before missing the contest last summer - but with perhaps not quite running to the high level of his outstanding 2022 form this season,. For that reason, an each-way on Vauban could be a sweet alternative. Vauban won very easily in a handicap race off a rating of 102 at this meeting last year and could produce another big run. Plus, the bookies have laid on something decent at odds of 8.00.
Tip 3: Rouhiya Each-Way in the Coronation Stakes
The Coronation Stakes is building up to be one of the best races of the entire week, with the winners of English, Irish, and French 1000 Guineas all on course to make the race. The Longchamp winner, Rouhiya, looks to be one worth supporting, given the manner in which she really burst through rivals to prevail in a close finish last time. At odds of 13.00 with Betfred, I think it won't just be trainer Francis Henri Graffard that will be excited to see what she can do at Royal Ascot.

Queen Anne Stakes: 18th June
The Royal Ascot curtain-raiser is the Queen Anne Stakes and hot-favourite Inspiral will be trying better last year's narrow second behind Triple Time. Though beaten on return in the Lockinge, connections expect her to be much sharper this time. Stablemate Audience won that race at Newbury and could join the likes of Charyn and Facteur Cheval in the mix now.
Prince of Wales Stakes: 19th June
The feature race on day two of Royal Ascot is the Prince Of Wales Stakes over 1m2f. Old foes Auguste Rodin and White Birch will lock horns yet again, and the Irish stars will be joined by French ace Horizon Dore. In terms of home hopes, Alflaila for Owen Burrows and Passenger for Sir Michael Stoute will be looking to create an upset at the finish post.
Gold Cup and Ladies Day: 20th June
After missing the defence of his crown last year, the 2022 winner Kyprios is back to try and regain it. Trainer Aidan O'Brien will be pleased to see, however, that his horse still maintains its reputation with the bookies, coming in as the firm favourite. Rising stars like Caius Chorister will be looking to pip him to the post while all-conquering Willie Mullins has set his sights on a first Gold Cup here with Vauban.
Commonwealth Cup: 21st June
A pure test of speed for the best three-year-olds in the lands, Vandeek is amongst the favourites for Simon and Ed Crisford despite a defeat at Haydock in his seasonal bow. Karl Burke's Elite Status is a rival of note, while Irish speedsters River Tiber and Bucanero Fuerte were first and third in the Coventry here last season.
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes: 22nd June 2024
The final group 1 race of the meeting and a very open contest on paper. Kinross heads most markets but is just 1-5 at this course and seemingly best at 7f. Mitbaahy showcased his credentials by beating Regional at the Curragh recently while Shartash looks an improved model as a four-year-old and could be in the reckoning.
