There are four Grand Slams that take place throughout the calendar year, and the Australian Open is the first of them. It takes place in January each year in Melbourne and attracts the attention of millions around the globe. Not only is there plenty of drama and entertainment for sports fans to enjoy, but there are also plenty of tennis betting options too. The 2024 Men's Australian Open will be played between the 14th and 28th, and below you can find my ace Australian Open men's prediction.
🎾 Australian Open Betting Preview
A total of 128 players will be traveling Down Under to compete in the Australian Open, and it has a straight knockout format, meaning that players are eliminated after one loss until just one player remains. Thus, there will be 64 matches that you can do some tennis betting on, should you wish to do so.
Below I am going to take a look at four players who I think will make a racket at this tournament and are in with a good shot of winning the Norman Brooks Trophy. Under each player, you will find some top 2024 men's Australian Open odds that some established and new UK betting sites) have on offer.
1️⃣Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic is the favourite with the top sports betting sites to go on and lift the Australian Open this year, which is not much of a surprise when you see how dominant he has been over the years. He has won the title on ten occasions, including the previous four times that he has taken part. He had to sit out of the 2022 edition as he was not given a Visa to enter the country. In the recent United Cup, he lost to Alex de Minaur, ending his 43-match winning streak Down Under. He picked up a slight wrist injury in this match, but that should not have a negative impact on his Australian Open campaign.

2️⃣ Carlos Alcaraz
With Rafael Nadal's tennis career coming to an end, Spanish hopes of future success in this sport will be on Alcaraz’s broad shoulders. He is only 20 years of age, but he has already shown his immense talent by winning the 2022 US Open and the 2023 Wimbledon. His opponents struggle against his aggressive style of play and his drop shot is so hard for players to read - even if they do read it, they often struggle to do anything about it. He has not made it past the third round of this competition, but that should change this time around.

- 4.33 at William-Hill Sport

3️⃣ Jannik Sinner
The young Italian has won a total of ten titles in his blossoming tennis career, but he has yet to pick up a Grand Slam title. The closest he came to silverware in a Grand Slam was when he made it to the last four of Wimbledon in 2023. His best performance in the Australian Open was a last-eight finish in 2022, but he has a favourable draw this time around. He could face Rublev or de Minaur in the last eight, before a potential clash with Djokovic in the semi-finals. If he does come up against the Serb, then he will be confident as he beat him twice in 2023.

4️⃣ Daniil Medvedev
Daniil Medvedev has finished as the runner-up of this competition on two occasions, and he lost to Nadal and Djokovic. He has won one Grand Slam which, in my opinion, is too few for a player that has his kind of quality. He has been drawn against a qualifier in the first round, while he might come up against the likes of Grigor Dimitrov or Holger Rune later in the tournament. If he makes it to the last four, then he might face Alcaraz, who he lost to three times last year. In 2023, he lost 18 of the 84 matches that he played, winning a total of five titles.

🏆 Australian Open Prediction
So, who do I think will be the Australian Open men's winner this year? Well, in all honesty, there is only one player who I can back to win this competition, and that man is Novak Djokovic. He has been completely dominant in this tournament, winning no fewer than ten times, and he always brings his A-game Down Under. Before his defeat to de Minaur last week, he had won a staggering 43 consecutive matches in Australia. Someone will have to put in one hell of a performance if they are to stop him from winning once again.
My Australian Open Prediction: Novak Djokovic to win.
⭐ Australian Open Betting Tips
So, now that I have given you my prediction on who will win the Australian Open 2024, I shall now provide you with some Australian Open men's betting tips that could come in handy if you decide to make use of the Australian Open men's odds. Whenever you are betting on a sport, make sure that you do so responsibly.
Who Are the Dark Horses?
All sports events have a dark horse, and some of the players that I think should be considered dark horses for the Australian Open 2024 include France Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton, and Alex de Minaur. I believe that these players have what it takes to have a successful competition, and potentially walk away with the title.
Top Tip 1: If the odds for a Djokovic win are not that enticing to you, or you do not think that he will win the title for whatever reason, then I suggest that you bet on de Minaur. He became the first player to beat Djokovic in Australia in six years, which also helped him become the first Australian to enter the top 10 since Lleyton Hewitt 17 years ago. His best performance in this competition was a fourth-round elimination, but I think he will do much better this time around.
Each Way Betting
In tennis, you have the option of placing each-way bets, which is where you bet on a player to make it to the final. If they do not win in the final, you will still end up getting some sort of return. If you are considering making such a bet, then below are some useful stats that you should keep in mind:
- The previous ten losing finalists were ranked in the nine.
- Out of the previous ten winners, eight had a ranking of fifth or higher.
- The world number one has only one four of the previous 10 Australian Opens.
- Nine of the last ten winners had won at least one Grand Slam beforehand - the exception to this was Stan Wawrinka in 2014.
Top Tip 2: If you are considering an each-way wager, then I would recommend betting on Daniil Medvedev. There is a solid chance that he will make it to the final for a third time, and he currently has high enough odds for some decent potential each-way returns. He does not have too bad a draw, so he will be confident of being able to make it to the showpiece match.
Who Would I Not Bet On?
In every big tennis event, there will be that one play who fails to live up to the expectations that people have for them. Many tennis bettors will have backed them to perform well, and then they have to count their losses when they watch their chosen player crash out early.
Top Tip 3: One player who I think will not have a successful 2024 Australian Open is Stefanos Tsitsipas as his 2023 was quite horrendous. Out of the 74 games that he played, his winning percentage was just 67.6%. He made it to the Aus Open men's final in 2023, but his season disintegrated after his defeat to Djokovic. His opponents have worked out that he has a poor one-handed backhand. Additionally, his father is his coach, and he is not even a recognised tennis coach.
