The four biggest tennis tournaments in the world are the Grand Slams, and the final one of 2024, the US Women's Open, is taking part at Flushing Meadows in the United States from August the 26th until September the 7th. There will be plenty of British tennis fans tuning in to watch and bet on the action but, before you go ahead and do that, take the time to read this betting guide as I am going to give my views on who will go on and lift the 2024 US Open title.

🎾 US Open Women's - Betting Preview & Odds

Both the Men's Finals and the women's US Open events have the same format - there are 128 participants that take part in knockout tennis until there is just one left standing. This means that we have a total of 64 matches to watch and place tennis bets on. For me, this is the best type of format as it increases the drama levels tenfold because each player knows that they do not get another crack of the whip.

Below I am going to have a look at the four female players who I believe have a good shout of winning the WTS US Open women's singles. Under each one, I will also provide you with the Women's US Open betting odds that some top established and new betting sites have available.

Iga Swiatek

The Pole should get through her first few rounds with ease, but a potential fourth-round meeting with either Liudmila Samsonova or Mirra Andreeva could be tough. I do not think Andreeva has what it takes yet to beat the world number one, but Samsonova's baseline power could cause her issues. If she manages to make it to the last eight, she will have to fight past the likes of Diana Shnaider, Danielle Collins, or Jessica Pegula.

Swiatek has a tough draw, there is no doubt about that, but she will be confident in her ability to overcome any adversity that is thrown her way. She also knows what it takes to win the US Open as she did so back in 2022. In order to beat her, her opponents will have to match her aggressive style of play.

Aryna Sabalenka

From the draws for both the men's and women's event, this is probably the most straightforward of them all. The top-seeded player in this quarter is Sabalenka, and I cannot see her suffering a shock early exit from the tournament. In fact, I think she will have an easy ride right up until the quarter-finals where she will probably take on either Amanda Anisimova or Qinwen Zheng.

She is one of the strongest women on the circuit, with a serve that can reach 124 mph. She is known to hit a lot of winners, but her aggressive nature also leads her to hit numerous unforced errors. The key to beating her is getting into long rallies and waiting for her to make an error.

Coco Gauff

Gauff is the top seed in her part of the draw, but her opponents will fancy getting at her as her form has been pretty inconsistent as of late. She has had some issues with her forehand and her serve - if she has not fixed these issues, she will not go very far in this competition.

What she does have going for her though is the fact that she is one of the fittest players on the circuit and her incredible defence can keep her hanging on in a match where she is being outplayed. She will also be playing with home advantage, which could end up spurring her on to retain the title she won last year.

Elena Rybakina

The Kazakh is ranked as the 4th best player in the world and is the top seed in her draw, but I need to highlight the fact that she has just dismissed her coach. As a result, we cannot really be too sure as to how she will play at Flushing Meadows. Thus, the other players in this part of the draw, such as Jasmine Paolini, Jelena Ostapenko, and Naomi Osaka will fancy their chances of winning.

She has a powerful serve and forehand but, just like Sabalenka, she does hit a number of unforced errors. She likes to finish points quickly, so her opponents need to force her into long rallies and hope she makes a mistake.

🏆 US Open Women's Prediction

Now that you know the odds that are on offer and previous recent winners, lets focus on my predicted winner for the 2024 US Open women's finals. There are several players who have a really good shot at glory, but my money has got to be on the favourite, Sabalenka.

The world number 2 had to miss Wimbledon earlier this summer due to a shoulder issue, but while it would have been frustrating for her it gave her the chance to rest and recuperate. She won the Cincinnati Open a week or so ago, defeating Pegula in the final, so she enters this competition full of confidence as well. She seems to be happy both on and off the court at present, which is not good news for her opponents.

US Women's Open Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka to win.

⭐ US Women's Open Betting Tips

You know who I think will go on and win, but here are some other US Women's Open 2024 tips that you might want to consider. You do not need to limit yourself to an outright winner. The first tip that I am going to give you is to gamble responsibly. Set up a budget and stick to it. Check out our betting tips page for more useful advice.

Who Are the Dark Horses?

The bookmakers have the usual suspects to go on and win the title, but there are some players who might come from nowhere to claim the title and the huge cash prize. Such players include the likes of Paolini, Badosa, and Navarro. Out of these, who would I back as my dark horse, though?

Top Tip 1: Navarro is my dark horse: Navarro has had one of the best seasons of her tennis career, winning her first title at the beginning of the year. She has continued to improve and has reached several quarter-finals and semi-finals, including making it to the last eight of Wimbledon. She knows that she can beat the big guns as she has beaten Gauff and Sabalenka this year.

Each Way Betting

In tennis, you can put an each-way bet on one of the participants, which means that you will earn some returns if they make it to the final. If they are battered in the final, you will still land some returns. Below you can find some useful stats to remember when placing each-way wagers on the 2024 US Open Women's final:

  • Only five of the previous ten winners were ranked ten or above in the rankings
  • All of the previous ten victors won 55% of hard court matches before the US Open
  • All of the last ten winners reached at least one quarter-final on hard court in the same season

Top Tip 2: Back Paolini to reach the final: Some players just appear out of nowhere and then keep going on good runs and Paolini is one such player. She made it to the final of the French Open and Wimbledon this season, which tells you that she is in some pretty good form. Furthermore, due to her bubbly personality, the crowd are usually on her side. She is short in stature, which impacts her serve, but she counters this with her agility and speed.

Who Would I Ignore?

In every tournament, there will always be one player who does not perform as well as expected. Sports betting sites love these players because they end up making them a pretty penny. Who do I think is going to end up flopping at the US Open Women's final this year?

Top Tip 3: Do Not Bet on Gauff: The American will be the home favourite and is the reigning champion, but I am worried by her recent form. She was knocked out early in Cincinnati earlier this month and has had issues with her forehand and serve. She also has some tough players in her side of the draw that she will need to overcome. I do not think that she will manage to retain her title.

📊 Women's US Open Winners

Before placing bets on the 2024 US Open women's final, you should do a bit of research into who has performed well at Flushing Meadows in recent years. Tennis events are played on different surfaces and players have their preferred playing surface. Additionally, the experience that someone gets from going deep into a big competition is something that should not be dismissed as unimportant.

Who Will Win the 2024 US Open?

There are number of potential candidates to win the 2024 US Open, but I think Sabalenka will go on to lift the title. She is well-rested after an injury and enters the competition in fine form after having won in Cincinnati a few weeks ago. If she plays to the best of her ability, she will be hard to beat.

Who Has the Most US Open Titles?

Chris Evert and Serena Williams have both won the US Open a total of six times. Out of the participating players this year, Naomi Osaka has won the most titles as she has won the US Open on two occasions.
