There are plenty of tennis events that we Brits can place bet on, but the four that garner the most attention are the Grand Slams - Australian Open , Roland Garros, French Open , and the US Open. The latter is the one that we will focus on here as it takes place between the 26th of August and the 8th of September. Plenty of tennis bets will be placed on it, but before you go ahead and slap down any wager, do yourself a favour and check out who I think will go on to win the US Open men's final 2024.

🎾 US Men's Open 2024 - Betting Preview & Odds

Just like with the other Grand Slams, there will be 128 players taking part in this US Open, and it also has a knockout format which means that players will be eliminated as soon as they lose one match. I think such a format is perfect for these prestigious events because it adds to the drama as players know that they do not get a second chance - they have to be on it from the get-go. There will be 64 matches in total, so there will be plenty for British tennis fans to bet on.

Below I am going to take a closer look at the four players that I feel have a really good shot of going on to win this Grand Slam. I will also give you the men's US Open betting odds that some quality established and new betting sites are currently offering for the outright winner at Flushing Meadows.

Jannik Sinner

The Italian is the top seed for the tournament and the world number one, and will come into this tournament having been victorious in the Masters 1000 last week. However, there is a dark cloud above his head as he recently tested positive for a banned substance - he was cleared by the ATP of any wrongdoing, but he is bound to be emotionally drained by all of the noise.

He has also had some fitness issues recently and has looked uncomfortable at times on the court. This makes it hard to back him, especially in a humid environment over five sets. When it comes to the draw, he will probably have an easy ride until the fourth round, where he could meet Tommy Paul. Then, he will likely have to try and overcome Daniil Medvedev in the quarter-finals.

Carlos Alcaraz

The Spaniard will be very content with his draw as his toughest potential opponents include Alex De Minaur, Jack Draper, and Hubert Hurkacz. Draper did manage to get the better of Alcaraz on grass a few months ago, but the conditions in New York will favour the Spaniard. The courts are slower this year, which will be a big advantage to Alcaraz.

I do not think that De Minaur has the power to get past Alcaraz, and he is also just returning from an injury. Hurkacz has a serve that can trouble the best players on the circuit, but he is trying to cope with a knee injury, while the slow courts will give Alcaraz valuable extra seconds to deal with the serve. He will be disappointed if he does not make the semi-finals.

Novak Djokovic

Djokovic will not have to face as much talent as Alcaraz or Sinner on his side of the draw, but we have not seen the Serb play since he won gold at the Olympics. To make it through the competition, he will have to overcome some massive servers in the shape of Alexei Popyrin, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton, so he will not be able to ease himself into the tournament.

The Serbian had an issue with his serve earlier on in the season, but he is back to his very best in this regard. If he goes to a tiebreaker in any of his matches, then I would back him to prevail as he is the best tiebreak player in tennis history. Of that, there can be no doubt.

Alexander Zverev

The third quarter of the US Open 2024 is one where all of the participants will fancy their chances of going deep in the competition. This part of the draw includes the likes of Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz, and Matteo Berrettini.

All of these players can beat each other on their day, so this is the most exciting quarter of the draw, but I think Zverev will find a way to come out on top. He is the world's fourth-best player, and he is not too far away in terms of quality when compared to Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic. He is also extremely fit, so he will not have too many issues if he has to play several five-set matches.

🏆 US Open Men's Prediction

This betting guide will now take a look at who I think will go on to claim the title and the huge cash prize that is on offer. It is never easy to predict men's tennis as there are so many who have a good chance of beating all that is put in front of them. However, I am not one to sit on the fence, so I am going to predict that Djokovic will retain the title he won last year.

Djokovic won the Olympic gold recently, which was the only title that was missing from his huge trophy cabinet. He will now be thinking that he has achieved all that he wanted to in the sport and anything else is a bonus. This should allow him to play with even more freedom, which is not good news for his opponents. He opted against trying to defend his Cincinnati Open title earlier in August, so he should enter the US Open with a fresh body and mind.

⭐ US Men's Open Betting Tips

Now that you know what my 2024 US Open prediction is, I am going to provide you with some other US Open men's betting tips. At the end of the day, there are more betting options available to tennis bettors than the outright winner.

The first tip that I must give you though is to always remember to gamble responsibly. Set a budget and make sure that you stick with it. You can find more useful tips over on our betting tips page.

Who is My Dark Horse?

In every sporting event, there is always a team or participant that comes from nowhere to give one of the big favourites a run, and some dark horses to look out for in the men's edition this year include the likes of Ruud, Berrettini, and Fritz. Who is my ultimate dark horse though?

Top Tip 1: Bet on Berrettini to cause issues: Back in 2021 and 2022 Berrettini was ranked as the 6th best player in the world, and all of his current serving numbers are up there with those two years. He is playing some top-quality tennis at the moment and has a powerful forehand that will cause issues for anyone that he comes up against. He has also made it to a final of a Grand Slam before, so knows that he has what it takes to go deep in these major competitions.

Each Way Betting

In tennis, you have the option of slapping down an each-way bet on a player, which means that they need to make it to the final for you to see some returns. Even if they go on to get completely destroyed, you will still walk away with some winnings. Here are some interesting stats to keep in mind when you are thinking about an each-way bet:

  • 17 of the previous 20 finalists were ranked seven or higher
  • 9 of the previous 10 winners were ranked six or higher
  • 8 of the last 10 champions were ranked inside the top four
  • All ten previous winners had made it to at least one US Open quarter-final in the past
  • Nine of the last ten winners had a 64% career win rate on hardcourt

Top Tip 2: Back Zverev to reach the final: The German has never won a Grand Slam, but he made it to the final of this competition in 2020. Despite his height, he can move freely across the court and boasts one of the strongest backhands on the circuit. In addition to this, he also has one of the biggest serves, serving up to 140mph, and is comfortable playing on any type of surface. He does have a weakness though, and this is his forehand.

Who Would I Not Bet On?

There is always someone who underperforms in these big competitions for one reason or another, and the bookmakers end up loving them as they land them a lot of money. Who would I suggest that you do not bet on to win the 2024 US Open?

Top Tip 3: Do Not Bet on Sinner: Many will be tempted to back Sinner to win due to how good we all know he is and the relatively enticing odds that the bookmakers are offering. However, I can see him failing this time around. Yes, he beat Tiafoe to claim the Cincinnati Open a week or so ago, but he has a doping cloud hanging over his head at present which will take his focus away from the court. He has also not had the best of times with injuries lately.

📊 Men's US Open Winners

When you are thinking about betting on a big tennis event such as the US Open, it is a wise move to check out who has won it in recent years before you put your bet down. Some players perform much better on certain surfaces at particular events when compared to others. Furthermore, experience in going far in a major tournament is something that should not be downplayed as it teaches the players how to deal with immense pressure.

Thus, with this in mind, below you can find the recent results of the men's US Open:

❓ Frequently Asked Questions About the US Open Men's Final

What Are the Best Betting Sites for US Open 2024?

This is one of the biggest tennis events of the year, so the majority of bookmakers will have markets and odds for it. However, they have not all been created equally, and the four that I recommend you take a closer look at are 10Bet, MyriadPlay, Gentlemanjim, and LeoVegas Sports.

Who Will Win the 2024 US Open?

There are plenty of contenders for the title, but my money is on Djokovic to claim his 25th Grand Slam title. He recently won all the major tennis titles by winning Olympic gold in Paris, so now that he has that monkey off his back he will be able to play with more freedom. After his surgery a few months back, the Serb is now back to his best, and I can see him retaining his title.

Who Has the Most US Open Titles?

In the Open Era, Roger Federer holds the record for the most US Open titles as he has won this competition on five occasions. Of the players who are playing in the 2024 edition, Djokovic has had the most success with four titles.
